“TRICKS
OF THE TRADE”
This tip is
another very useful suggestion from Phil Jeffries, an embalmer from
Pennsylvania. For more information on Phil's interesting embalming background,
see the tip "Getting Sufficient Fluid to the Hands." Thanks again, Phil! Keep
those good tips coming!
A BETTER WAY TO CLOSE A POSTED CASE
When you are ready to
replace viscera in the thoracic cavity following treatment, don't tie or close
the viscera bag . First, settle it into cavity with open end toward the pelvic
area. (I double bag.) Then, place end of aspirator hose into bag, holding
tight around bag and hose to form a sea; aspirate air out of bag before tying
it. This helps reduce volume of viscera and makes closing easier. It works
just like the "food saver" "as seen on TV"!!
